What is the 7+?
The 7+ is an entrance exam taken in Year 2 or early Year 3 by children applying for Year 3 entry to selective independent schools. It assesses:
- Core Academic Skills – English, Maths, and Reasoning
- Potential & Academic Promise – Not just what a child knows, but how they think
- School Readiness – Can they thrive in a faster-paced learning environment?
Many schools also include interviews and group activities to assess communication, confidence, and social skills.

When Should We Start Preparing?
